What is Cannabidiol (CBD)?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the two most active ingredients found in cannabis. CBD is not psychoactive like Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and is a very similar cannabinoid to THC, but the user doesn’t experience the euphoric feeling. Instead, CBD is more of a relaxing chemical component that offers a variety of therapeutic and medical benefits without the psychoactive effects like that of THC.

Some of the medicinal benefits that CBD has been known to offer includes antiemetic (reducing nausea & vomiting), antipsychotic (combating psychosis disorders), anti-inflammatory (fighting inflammatory disorders), anti-oxidant (challenging neurodegenerative disorders), and anxiolytic / anti-depressant (alleviating anxiety and depression disorders).

While CBD derived from marijuana plants is still illegal (in most states), CBD derived from industrial hemp — which consists of extremely low levels of THC — is legal in all 50 states and more than 40 countries.
